Open Source Software Review - Tux of Math Command

Tux of Math command is an Open Source programs that can be downloaded for free for a multitude of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS X, Ubuntu and Linux, RMP-based Linux with directions for install). This is a wonderful resource to use in the classroom to help any student to fine tune their math facts. The software package comes complete with lessons for each mathematical operation and varies on levels in each operation. This is a wonderful FREE resource to have!

  1. This look like a fantastic site and I will pass it on to the teachers at my school. I just can't figure out how to use it in my art room :-)! I will also check if they have any favorite open source site that they would recommend. Thanks for informing me about Tux of Math Command.

  2. I've actually seen my 3rd grade son playing this game before. The game kept him entertained and provided a fun way to review his math facts. The objective of the game I observed him playing was to correctly answer the math equation before it destroys your home. This would be a site that I would recommend to use for teachers to use in elementary school, as well as, for parents with school aged kids.

  3. What a great way for students to learn to like math at an early age. The best way to learn to like something is to be accomplished at it, and this will help the students hone their skills while having fun!
